I’d include a stop near Audubon Park and a look along Northwest Boulevard. There’s no requirement to discuss square footage over every cup of coffee, though I’m happy to if you insist.
Coffee Across from the Park
Little Garden Cafe’s Audubon location, at 2901 W Northwest Boulevard, sits directly across from Audubon Park. Picking up a warm cup of coffee and taking a stroll around the park is a lovely way to get a feel for the neighborhood. It is also a perfectly good reason to take a break from comparing kitchens.
Artisan Pizza and a Local Round of Golf
The Flying Goat is an option for artisan pizza when you are ready to settle in for a meal. It fits nicely into an outing along the neighborhood’s Northwest Boulevard corridor.
Downriver Golf Course sits among tall pines along the Spokane River. In my view, it is one of the area’s standout municipal courses, and the river setting is a big part of its appeal. The city describes gently rolling terrain and river views at this long-established public course. Check current tee times and course details when planning a round.
Finding Your Kind of Home
Character can be a large part of an older home’s appeal. I also like to ask how the layout works today, what has been updated, and which original details you want to keep. We can appreciate the charm while still taking a clear-eyed look at the home.
The city’s Audubon/Downriver profile identifies ranch and cottage styles, brick construction, and a street pattern that shifts from a grid to curving pockets. I’d use those details to help plan a tour, then give each house a closer look. We can enjoy the brickwork and character while also asking about the wiring, plumbing, and past alterations. The practical questions belong in the conversation, too.
